Sailing in Hawaii presents unique challenges to even experienced navigators. Aqua Ventures Hawaii Sailing School offers ASA students a safe place to learn to sail with a patient and expert USCG Captain who is at home in the Pacific Ocean surrounding the Hawaiian Islands.
Sailing out of the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor in Honolulu, ASA students experience the beauty of Hawaii from offshore. Year-round sailing is possible (weather permitting) within view of world famous Diamond Head. Advanced courses and practice sailing charters may explore other parts of Oahu and nearby islands of Molokai, Maui and Lanai.
Hawaii Sailing School is focused primarily on skills, safety, and navigation within the beautiful Hawaiian waters just outside the Waikiki area of Oahu. Private, group, and challenge courses are available. Women will find a comfortable learning environment in classes especially designed for them. Local sailors can practice and upgrade skills. Visitors can safely experience the marine environment of islands surrounded by blue water and connected by challenging interisland channels with an experienced captain and ASA instructor onboard.
The courses offered are ASA 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, and 114. Each class is taught with the understanding that students come with varying levels of experience. Lessons focus on what is not known to the student. Knowledge is safety and getting on the water is the best way to learn.
ASA students who have completed 101 through 104 may schedule practice charters with a certified instructor aboard. While visiting Hawaii, several hours of practice sail are a fun way of enjoying paradise while enhancing on the water skills. Overnight packages are also available.
School vessels include a 31.5 foot tiller helmed Columbia Payne 9.6 and a 39 foot Gecco 39. They are well suited for the ocean environment around the Hawaiian islands. The vessels are very well maintained and equipped for safety.
Come and experience the passion of sail in paradise!
Aloha, Captain Rick
